What this website does with your information. In short: no analytics, no advertising and no cookies from us. If you email us, we use what you send only to reply and help you.

This policy covers the website at i-cost.co.uk. The I-Cost application (sign-up, free trial, the Get a quote form, the supplier portal, the I-Cost for Revit add-in and everything once you sign in) has its own Privacy Notice.

1. Who we are

The website is run by I-Cost Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09789057). Registered office: Suite 3, 22e West Station Yard, Spital Road, Maldon, England, CM9 6TS. Trading address: 24 Holborn Viaduct, London, EC1A 2BN.

We are the data controller for the information described here, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZA787294. For anything about privacy, email info@i-cost.co.uk.

2. When you visit the website

Like every website, our web server records each request it receives: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file asked for, the page you came from and your browser and device type. We use these logs only to keep the website secure and working, for example to spot attacks or fix broken links. They are kept on our hosting server in the United Kingdom for a short period and then deleted. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

We do not use analytics or tracking tools, advertising or social media pixels, and the website sets no cookies of its own. That is why you do not see a cookie banner.

3. Things on our pages that come from other companies

  • Google Fonts. Our pages use fonts from Google Fonts. To show them, your browser asks Google's servers for the font files, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google says it does not use this to build profiles or for advertising. See Google Fonts privacy.
  • YouTube video. The video on our homepage does not load anything from YouTube until you click play. When you do, it plays through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and from then on Google receives your IP address and may store information on your device as described in the Google privacy policy. If you prefer, use the Watch on YouTube link instead.
  • Links to other websites. We link to review sites (G2, Capterra, GetApp, Software Advice), to the I-Cost application and blog, and to articles and sources on other websites. When you follow a link, that website's own privacy policy applies.

Google may process this information in the United States. Transfers to Google LLC are covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

4. When you email us

If you email us, for example at kevin@i-cost.co.uk to book a demo or at info@i-cost.co.uk, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us, such as your company and project. We use it only to reply, arrange a demo or health check, and prepare a quote if you ask for one. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, where you ask about using I-Cost, taking steps at your request before a contract.

We do not add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails because you contacted us. We keep enquiry emails for up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a customer, in which case the application's Privacy Notice applies. Please do not send us sensitive personal information.

Starting a free trial or using the Get a quote form takes you to the I-Cost application, which is covered by its Privacy Notice.

5. Free templates and guides

You can read our Insights guides and download our free Excel templates without giving any details. We do not record who downloads them, apart from the normal server logs described above.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. Our UK hosting provider and our email provider handle it for us, on our instructions. We may also share information if the law requires it, for example with a court or regulator.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, and object to us using it. Email info@i-cost.co.uk. We will reply within one month and there is normally no charge.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@i-cost.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.

9. Changes to this policy

If the website starts doing something new with personal information, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
